Cookie policy
Our own code sets no cookies. Google Analytics sets two after “Accept all”, and Google reCAPTCHA one when you open the chat. This page lists each item, its lifetime and how to change your choice.
01. Who we are
www.decode-summit.com is run by Sutic Advisory B.V., brand name Fairsight SEE, Willem Parelstraat 254, 1018 KZ Amsterdam, Netherlands, KvK 98679511 - the controller for this site. Contact: info@decode-summit.com.
The site has no accounts or sessions, and our own code sets no cookies at all.
02. What we store in your browser
Your banner answer goes into local storage, not a cookie; a chat conversation into session storage.
- decode-consent - local storage.
alloressential, so the banner does not ask again. 13 months. - decode-consent-at - local storage. When you answered, so the answer can expire. Cleared with
decode-consent. - deko-thread - session storage. Your Deko conversation, kept while Deko’s links move you between pages. Written only if you send a message. Deleted when the tab closes or you press Clear conversation.
What you type to Deko also goes to our server: see the privacy policy.
03. The two banner buttons
Every page loads Google’s gtag.js (GA4 property G-NZF5RBKD44) and Google Tag Manager (GTM-P27LCWRX) in Consent Mode v2: every consent type is denied by default, only security_storage is granted. No cookie is written and no analytics data is stored. The scripts still send cookieless consent-state pings to Google: page URL, timestamp, coarse device and browser data, IP address and consent status.
- Essential only - everything stays denied; only your answer is stored.
- Accept all -
analytics_storageis granted; advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation stay denied. Google Analytics sets the cookies in section 04 and Tag Manager receives aconsent_grantedevent. The container sets no cookie.
Your answer applies site-wide for 13 months.
04. Cookies set with “Accept all”
Google Analytics 4 tells us how many people looked at the summit and which pages they read, not who you are. Both cookies are first-party on decode-summit.com.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Tells one browser from another so visits are counted. | 13 months |
| _ga_NZF5RBKD44 | Session state for this GA4 property. | 13 months |
GA4’s default is two years; we set 13 months with cookie_expires. Measurement data goes to Google under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
05. reCAPTCHA on the chat
Opening the chat panel loads Google reCAPTCHA v3, which guards the chat against automated abuse. Google then sets its _GRECAPTCHA cookie on google.com and receives your IP address under Google’s privacy policy, whatever you chose in the banner.
We rely on the exemption in Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive for storage strictly necessary for a service you explicitly requested. To avoid it, do not open the chat. Your IP address: see the privacy policy.
06. Third parties
Tickets are on sale on Tickets RS, but nothing of Tickets RS runs on this site: the ticket desk on the summit page is our own markup with a plain link to tickets.rs. There is no checkout, no frame, no widget and no script from the provider here, so it sets no cookie on this domain. Once you follow the link you are on tickets.rs, where Tickets RS is an independent controller and its own cookie banner and policy apply.
Beyond Google’s tags (section 03) and reCAPTCHA (section 05), nothing here calls out to anyone: our own fonts, images, styles, scripts and the calendar file are served from this domain; there are no embedded videos, maps or social plugins, and the footer’s social icons are plain links. Deko is our own script and sets no cookie.
07. Changing your choice
Press Cookie settings in the footer of any page; the banner returns with both buttons live. If you had accepted and now choose Essential only, we delete the _ga cookies and reload the page with consent denied, so measurement stops at once. Withdrawing is as easy as consenting (GDPR Art. 7(3)). Your answer expires after 13 months. Clearing this site’s data in your browser has the same effect.
08. Legal basis and complaints
Storing or reading information on your device needs your consent under Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), unless strictly necessary for a service you explicitly requested. Your banner answer needs no consent; the analytics cookies rest on your consent; reCAPTCHA on your explicit request. Consent must be freely given, informed and as easy to withdraw as to give (GDPR Art. 7).
Our lead supervisory authority is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Postbus 93374, 2509 AJ Den Haag, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl); you can also complain to the authority where you live. For people in Serbia, Serbian data-protection law (ZZPL) applies in parallel and the Poverenik is an additional complaint route. Your rights are in the privacy policy.
